- Story
- In the camp, Kalman worked mainly in sorting the belongings of the murdered. On the afternoon of the revolt, Kalman attended a workshop on the renovation of aluminum vessels. He knew he was supposed to pick up the gun in the garage and he ran there but couldn't get there because of the fire. He turned and ran towards the field hospital, towards the second gate. There he simply climbed the fence and escaped during the uprising. He hid in a forest bunker with others until the end of the war (with Chil Rajchman and Jakub Miller; he probably knew why Miller and Rajchman fell out but they appear to have carried this secret to their graves). After the war, he emigrated for Israel. He testified at the Eichmann trial in Jerusalem.
