- Story
- Zygmunt-Srul Warszawer and his son found themselves in a forced labor camp in Wilga, and from there they escaped to the ghetto in Sobolewo. During the deportation from the local ghetto, he jumped out of the transport [his son suffocated in the car]. Srul reached the village of Przyłęk, where he was helped by a local peasant, Pilecki. Warszawer hid in the forests, in the fields, and also in peasant farms, going from village to village. After 26 months of wandering, he was liberated. After the war, he stayed in Poland and ran a kosher butcher shop in Warsaw.
